I don’t trust a lot of companies and I keep my life as simple as possible by not buying into a lot of these "skin care" products.

I’m 31 now and wondering if there IS something out there that does work to fix and prevent skin issues but maybe I’m wrong.

Would just a bar of soap and washing my face twice a day work just as good?

I have heard numerous times that these skin care companies are just as bad as the pharmacutical companies wherby they make these skin care products in such a way so that you have to keep using them and/or they make your skin worse in time so that you end up getting suckered into buying other products to correct what the other products did to your skin.
Just one big vicious circle is what I have heard, but i like to get as many opinions as I can as I am quite scepticle.
