Even while treating acne with a product, you should always keep a healthy skin care routine to help. So here I give you my top 5 tips to care for your acne to accompany your favorite acne product:   Tip #5 – Always wash you face twice daily with a mild soap containing benzoyl peroxide, and be careful not to scrub, this can damage the skin and cause your acne to get worse.   Tip #4 – Always shampoo your hair regularly, the build up of grease on your hair, can be transferred to your face, especially with long hair, I’d recommend keeping your hair tied back if it comes into contact with your face regularly, or any other method that will keep your hair away from your face.   Tip #3 – Avoid makeup on acne covered area’s, they contain plenty of chemicals that provide a perfect breeding ground for acne, as well as clog up your pours. If you do have to wear make-up over acne covered area’s, try to stick to hypoallergenic, or the fragrance-free variety.   Tip #2 – Make sure you drink plenty of water! Water has a healthy effect on your blood, and it’s the cells in your blood that fight the harmful bacteria that build up and cause ace breakouts.   And my #1 top five tip! *drum roll*   #1 – Don’t play with your spots! If you pop, pick, scratch or squeeze them, you can cause infection, and even worse, scaring! You definitely don’t want that. Instead use a product that contains benzoyl peroxide. Start with a low strength, once a day, and work your way up.
